OVER 90% OF ALL WOMEN OVER THE AGE OF 20 HAVE CELLULITE- BUT THERE IS AN ANSWER!

Many of the fittest women I know have cellulite!

After I returned from the official Endermologist training center located in Florida and began to advertise these treatments in the local newspapers, I was utterly amazed by the first few women that presented themselves in my office for consultations. As a Chiropractic Physician, I seldom need to have my patients get undressed to do their physical exams.  I suppose I was really blind to the fact that there was no correlation between a persons level of fitness and cellulite.  I have many patients that run ten miles a day and still have some cellulite in different regions of their body.  Cellulite is an equal opportunity problem!

What Is Cellulite?

Cellulite is the appearance of  unattractive dimpled skin or “dimpled fat” on or around the outer thighs, buttocks and other body areas where large areas of fat come are found in close proximity to the skin. Women are more affected by cellulite formation than men, due to especially on the thighs due to higher levels of the hormone Estrogen.    Most women over age 18 have some degree of cellulite.  In men, loose fat on the hips (love-handles), chest (pectoral) area and the thighs can resemble cellulite.

Cellulite forms as the septae that supports the ;ayer of fat closest to the skin fails to due high levels of Estrogen or genetic factors.  As it fails tension is placed on the fat cells and they swell due to the pull of the two opposing forces.  As the fat cells swell beneath the skin, they create bulging and dimples on the skin's surface. TThe tension of these strings pulls sections of fat in along with them. Cellulite has been compared to the dimples in a mattress that are caused by the strings that hold the “tucks” down.

If It's Fat, Why Can't I Just Lose It?

Many very thin women and men have come to me and asked this question.  The unfortunate reality is that cellulite is a form of fat or "adipose" tissue.  Adipose tissue is used by the body primarily as a storage vessel for energy.  When there is a excess of caloric intake the body removes the remaining sugars from the blood stream with the help of the hormone insulin and transports them into the waiting adipose tissue.  Because adipose does not need to move, it does not burn calories.  Since it is mainly a storage container, it does not need as much access to the blood stream and therefore has very poor circulation.  Do to the lack of circulation of blood and lymph in the cellulite- it is extremely hard to mobilize!

One of the ways Endermologie works is to aid in mobilizing the cellulite by drawing additional blood and lymph into its tissues with the help of suction and massage.  What occurs next is that the cellulite is broken down in the blood stream and metabolized.

Due to this excess release of energy, most of our patients report a "surge" of energy after the treatment, do to the reuptake of nutrients into the bloodstream.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT YOU CANT DIET OR EXERCISE OFF CELLULITE
BUT WE CAN HELP TO MASSAGE IT AWAY
